Dubai Marathon 2025: A major announcement has been made by RTA (Road and Transport Authority) regarding major road closures and extended Dubai Metro Service on January 12, 2025 i.e. Monday. The roads will be closed and the Dubai metro timings have been extended on the occasion of Dubai Marathon 2025.
The former World Champion Lelisa Desisa will be among an elite field for Dubai Marathon 2025. The RTA (Roads and Transport Authority) have announced major road closures and extended operating hours of the Dubai metro service on Sunday, January 12th, 2025, on the occasion of Dubai Marathon 2025. This popular sports and athletic event will begin on Sunday Morning with an elite field of runners as well as thousands of joggers and enthusiasts who are amateur. The race at the Dubai Marathon 2025 will begin at 6:00 A.M. and is scheduled to run until 1:00 P.M. on Sunday.
The Road Closures on the occasion of Dubai Marathon 2025
The road closures on the occasion of Marathon will start at midnight and the RTA has advised people to plan trips ahead of time. According to a statement by RTA on Twitter, “Check out the road map for #DubaiMarathon2025, kicking off on Sunday, January 12, 2025, from 6am until 1pm. Plan your trip in advance and consider heading out earlier to ensure your timely arrival and avoid delays. Kindly note that a section of Umm Suqeim Street (the section between Al Wasl Road and Jumeirah Road) will be closed starting midnight. Traffic flow will be effectively managed throughout the race, with designated crossing areas on both sides of Jumeirah Street and King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street.”

The roads that will be effected are:
- Umm Suqeim Street
- Jumeirah Street
- King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street
- Al Naseem Street
The RTA also announced the extended operating hours for the Dubai Metro to further enhance transport efficiency during the Dubai Marathon 2025. On January 12, 2025, the Dubai Metro will operate from 5:00 A.M. instead of 8:00 A.M.
