Olympic Day, UAE: His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and also president of the National Olympic Committee (NOC), reaffirmed the UAE’s sheer determination to the Olympic Movement.
The occasion started with a spectacular display on the notable Burj Khalifa, where the International Olympic Committee’s emblem and the logo for the forthcoming Paris lit up the skyscraper.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed expressed pride and good wishes in the UAE’s NOC energetic and active involvement in promoting movement, good health, and fitness through such smart moves, especially in the lead-up to the Paris Games. As per Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum “The UAE joins the world in celebrating this year’s Olympic Day on 23 June with the theme ‘Let’s Move and Celebrate’. Our leadership is committed to supporting the Olympic movement by creating an environment that fosters sporting excellence”.
Putting forward the significance of Olympic Day, which is celebrated annually in collaboration with the National Olympic Committees worldwide, Sheikh Ahmed stated that sportsmanship, fair play, and unity are at the heart of the Olympic spirit.
