Horrendous noise led villa owner call the police as machines continued working from 11pm to 4am
Residents of Dubai’s posh Serena Community have reportedly been suffering the loud noise due to late-night roadworks for months now. However, Tuesday brought a ray of hope for the residents as the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) took notice of an expats’ complaint on the popular social media platform X.
As per the villa owner, the noise had been “horrendous”, said Abbie Watson (name changed upon the request of the villa owner). A roundabout is under construction to ease the traffic in the area where a school and supermarket is also located. Construction work is ongoing between the Serena and Al Waha communities in Dubailand.
Many residents complained of dealing with loud noise, especially in late night. However, Tuesday came with a ray of hope and new regulations by RTA for all those seeking relief from the loud noise. RTA responded that “inspectors have visited the site” and the contractor has been told to “avoid late-hour works”.
“The mentioned project is expected to be completed within a week,” the authority said.
