This metro expansion plan has been made under the division of His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is the ruler of Dubai and the Vice President and the Prime Minister of the UAE and His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Muhammad Al Maktoum (Fazza), who is the Crown Prince of Dubai. The main aim behind the expansion of Dubai Metro is to boost the share of public transport to 45% and reduce carbon emissions to 16 tonnes per capita.
It comes as no surprise that travelling by Dubai Metro is more convenient for the people. Not only this means of transport is economical but it also saves a lot of time for the travellers as they can avoid the jampacked roads. This plan further supports the 20-minute city ambition that will ultimately increase the number of commuters. With the development of metro stations, the face of public transport is expected to move in a positive direction.
