10.62 million tourists visited Dubai, during the first seven months of 2024, depicting an increase of 8 percent over the same period the previous year, when the city welcomed 9.83 million foreign visitors. The Dubai’s annual tourism performance report by the Department of Economy and Tourism shows a consistent increase in the number of visitors. As per the monthly statistics, Dubai saw 1.77 million tourists in January, 1.9 million in February, 1.51 million in March, 1.5 million in April, 1.44 million in May, 1.19 million in June, and 1.31 million in July.
Approx 20% of total visitors came from Western European countries, Dubai’s top tourist destinations. Whereas South Asia trailed closely behind with 1.848 million travelers or 17% of all visitors. Third place went to the nations of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), which sent 1.537 million travelers, or 14% of the total. With 1.505 million visitors, the Commonwealth of Independent States and Eastern Europe also made up about 14% of the total.
The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region accounted for 12% of the total visitors with 1.232 million visitors and was the fifth-largest source of tourists. 10% of the total number of tourists, or about 1.028 million, came from countries in Northeast and Southeast Asia. These numbers highlight Dubai’s continued standing as a well-liked international travel destination and demonstrate its successful methods of drawing tourists from different parts of the world.
