Dubai Residency obtains ISO certification

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs i.e. Dubai Residency obtains ISO Certification in the field of resilience and security, the vital global standards in emergency response and management. The BSI (British Standards Institute) has awarded this ISO certification to Dubai Residency only after the fulfilment of all the mandatory requirements and standards of emergency management and effective response via the Smart Command and Control Centre within the Air Ports Affairs Sector.

The ISO 22320 certificate in the field of security and resilience was received by His Excellency Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri; the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, in the presence of Major General Obaid Muhair Bin Suroor; the Deputy Director General and Chairman of the Permanent Committee for Labour Affairs in Dubai and Major General Talal Ahmed Al Shnqeeti; the Assistant Director for Air Ports Affairs. Also, Elias Karampouikis; The Regional Commercial Director for BSI, and Thabet Shamia; the Head of Institutional Training at BSI were also present.

We will continue to work on enhancing our capabilities and developing our services to ensure the highest levels of security and safety in the Emirate of Dubai, setting a model to follow locally and globally,” said His Excellency Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri; the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai.

This ISO certification will strengthen Dubai residency’s position as a leading entity in adopting the highest international standards, making sure that the provision of the best levels of safety and security in all its operations. This ISO certification provide guidelines for incident management, throwing light on key principles such as roles and responsibility, emphasising the importance of cooperation to ensure an effective response, and resource management.
